PDM Rally Multan: Former PM’s son gets arrested

Multan, 25th November: Former Prime Minister and PPP leader Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani’s son Musa Gilani has been arrested.

According to sources from Multan, Pakistan People’s Party had started holding PDM rallies in the city, breaking the law and all the constitutional responsibilities.

The PPP has started taking out rallies in Multan to prepare for the November 30 meeting of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM). 

The rally led by Yousuf Raza Gilani started from New City to Ghanta Ghar Chowk. Deputy Commissioner Amir Khattak said that the district administration did not allow the PPP to hold the rally.

Heavy contingents of police were deployed on all the roads leading to Nawan Shehar while severe traffic jams were reported on all the highways leading to Nawan Shehar Chowk.

Traffic was blocked on the roads coming from Dera Ada, Kalma Chowk, Tariq Road, Abdali Road to Chowk Nawan Shehar.

According to reports, Syed Musa Gilani participated in the rally and tore a copy of the FIR. “The district administration lodged a false FIR for breaking the locks of the venue,” Musa Gilani said.

Former prime minister Gillani’s son Kasim also talked about the rally on Twitter before sharing a copy of the FIR in another post.

“The Punjab government has registered a bogus FIR based on false and ridiculous charges Abdul Qadir Gilani, myself and [PPP/PDM],” he said.

It is to be noted that a case has been registered against 30 members of PPP and PML-N including Abdul Qadir Gilani, son of former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and Ali Qasim Gilani for alleged attempt to break the gate of Stadium Qila Kahna Qasim Bagh in Multan and resistance from the staff.

As per latest reports, the police have arrested him. On the other hand, PPP leaders have strongly condemned the arrest.
