Senate Resolution passed for #AasiyaAndrabi

Islamabad, 24th July 2020: The Senate has passed a resolution condemning the transfer of Syeda Asiya Andrabi, head of Dukhtaran-e-Millat in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, to Tihar Jail’s sentence ward as violations of basic human rights.

On Friday, Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed moved a resolution, which was passed jointly by the House.

The resolution was tabled on the recommendation of Kashmir Youth Alliance. In the resolution, the senators paid tributes to Asiya Andrabi for her role in the Kashmir independence movement.

The Senate has condemned the transfer of the politically imprisoned political leader of Occupied Kashmir to a solitary ward in Tihar Jail and demanded the release of Asiya Andrabi. Demonstrations and protests were held in this regard.

In his statement, Dr. Mujahid Gilani, President Kashmir Youth Alliance and nephew of Syeda Asiya Andrabi thanked the members of the Senate and said that it was the responsibility of the entire nation to raise voice for Asiya Andrabi.

Expressing solidarity with Dukhtar-e-Millat chief Syeda Asiya Andrabi became a top trend on Twitter for the second day in a row.

Tribute was paid to Kashmir Youth Alliance Chairman Saad Arsalan Sadiq and Syeda Asiya Andrabi’s nephew and Kashmir Youth Alliance President Dr. Syed Mujahid Gilani on the second day of social media.

Tributes have been paid by the Pakistani youth in full solidarity with the brave woman.

It may be recalled that two days ago, Asiya Andrabi, a female separatist leader of Occupied Kashmir and chairperson of Dukhtar-e-Millat, and her two female colleagues were transferred to the infamous Tihar Jail. Her son Muhammad bin Qasim informed about it by tweeting on social media.
