“The blast occurred near a bridge in Karhali locality of the town in the morning. Abdullah who served as the Taliban’s police chief for Shegal district in Kunar lost his life in the incident,” the source who declined to be named told Xinhua.

Meantime, Attahullah Sapay, head of the provincial hospital, said that one body and 11 wounded were admitted to the main provincial hospital following the explosion.

Among those wounded were seven civilians, including a woman and two children, and four Taliban members, he told Xinhua.
