Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) continues its gigantic operation to bring back stranded Pakistani citizens from different countries.

This time PIA made history by bringing back 252 stranded Pakistanis in Sudan through a special flight amid the coronavirus pandemic.

PIA flight PK 786, departing from Khartoum International Airport in the Sudanese capital landed safely on Saturday. The passengers thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Pakistan and PIA for making this challenging task possible.

According to civil aviation sources, about 252 Pakistanis returning home have been screened for coronavirus at Karachi airport. The passengers are also being medically examined by the Civil Aviation Team and Sindh Health Department staff for coronavirus.

Coronavirus positive passengers are being transferred from Karachi Airport to the quarantine center on the Northern Bypass under special government arrangements. While passengers who can afford hotel accommodation and meals themselves are being transferred to a private hotel located within the airport.

The administration has designated a certain part of the hotel as a quarantine center for coronavirus and there is a 24-hour police guard.

The passengers thanked PIA management and Government of Pakistan for bringing them back to their homeland. Furthermore, the passengers specially thanked Chief Executive Officer (CEO) PIA Air Marshal Arshad Malik for making constant efforts to help Pakistani come back to their homeland.
