Twenty-seventh death anniversary of Pakistan’s renowned classical dancer Maharaj Ghulam Hussain Kathak is being observed today.
Maharaj Ghulam Hussain Kathak was born on March 4, 1899 in Calcutta.
In 1950, Maharaj Ghulam Hussain Kathak came to Pakistan, where he taught dance first in Karachi and then in Lahore.
He received Nigar Award as well as the Presidential Medal for Meritorious Service.
Maharaj Ghulam Hussain Kathak died on this day in Lahore.
