February 24, 2021:  3rd International Conference on “Advances in Theoretical and Applied Physics (ATAP-2021)” was organized on February 24-26, 2021 (virtual on zoom) by department of Physics, Government College Women University Faisalabad, Pakistan.

ATAP is a year-wise series of event where prominent scientists, researchers, scholars and industrialists from around the world join together to share their latest research results and ideas. Ms. Asma Khurshid, Head of Physics department is the convener of the conference. In the introductory session, she welcomed the chief guests, international speakers, and all participants.

She hoped that this conference will provide the recent and innovative research in applied and material sciences. The first day of the event completed successfully. The Vice chancellor Prof. Dr. Robina Farooq joined the conference and in her address, she welcomed all the international speakers and participants. She emphasized on the need to start joint research programs and international collaborations.She appreciated the efforts of Physics department in arranging consecutive international conferences for three years.

She shared the importance of medical physics in diagnostics and organ transplants in recent times helping mankind in much better treatment facilities. Dr. Zill-e-Huma Nazli, Coordinator Science & Technology emphasized the importance of sharing the advanced knowledge among young researchers for research development and appreciated the efforts of Physics department. Prof. FahrettinYakuphanoglu (FiratUniversity. Turkey) was the keynote speaker of the day who delivered his talk on “The Use of Organic Radar Absorbing Materials to be used in Stealth Technology”.

In the second session (Applied Physics) Prof. Vselios Lembessis and Prof. Andreas Lieras (King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia), and Dr. Mujahid Zakaullah (Ruhe-universitat Bochum, Germany) had their talks on Cold Atom Physics, Plasmon Enhanced Laser Matter Interaction and Plasma Propagation in PBPR.

The Third session proceeded with informative talks of Dr. M. Atif, Dr. Anees A. Ansari (King Saud university, Saudi Arabia), Dr. Subir Dad (institute of biophotonions, Taipei  Taiwan), Prof. Daniel Jaque Garcia (Materials physics department,  Autonomous university of Madrid, Spain), Dr. Natalia Mayumi Inada (university of Sao Paulo,  Brazil), Prof. Vanderlei Salvador Bagnato (university of Sao,  Paulo,  Brazil), Prof. Lothar Like (university of Toronto,  Toronto,  Canada) who shared their research progress on Photodynamic therapy, Biomedical Nanomaterials, optical microscopy and on Bio-imaging.

The first day of this conference went very successful which provided the participants with great knowledge of recent research areas and valuable views were exchanged between speakers and participants.
