77 years of India’s forceful occupation of State of Junagadh passed
Seventy-seven years have been passed since India’s illegal occupation of princely state of Junagadh.
In 1947, the ruler of the princely state, Mahabat Khanji, announced the accession to Pakistan. The accession to Pakistan was also approved by the Junagadh State Council.
India could not tolerate this and forcibly established control over Junagadh through the use of weapons. Indian soldiers committed mass murder, rape and heavy damage to Muslim properties in Junagadh.
Due to political failure, India also conducted a so-called referendum under the shadow of weapons.
