Karachi, 1st October: A proposal to install micro-smart lockdown in more areas of Karachi is under consideration, after the surge of coronavirus cases in the city.
The DHOs of Central and Eastern Districts have sent the list to the concerned Deputy Commissioners.
According to the details, the list and letter received by the concerned Deputy Commissioners in Karachi regarding micro-smart lockdown, states that 46 cases of the coronavirus have been reported in 4 areas of Central District, which include North Karachi, North Nazimabad, Gulberg and Liaquat Abad.

The text of the letter said that cases of coronavirus are also being reported from the areas of Eastern District, including Gulshan-e-Iqbal, UC-14 and UC-6 in Eastern District.
In addition, Jamshed Town, UC 7, UC 10, Al Khaleej Tower and Mustafa areas are also part of the Eastern District where a micro-smart lockdown has been proposed. The letter stressed to impose an immediate smart lock to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Coronavirus: Latest Global Developments
In addition, coronavirus hot spots have been identified in 6 districts of Karachi. According to Director Health, Dr Nadeem Sheikh, there are 24 places in South District, 41 places in Malir District and 2 places in the West District.
He said that there are corona patients in 39 houses in Korangi district, 46 houses of corona cases in Central district, 637 corona hotspots in Eastern district.
People in hotspot areas have been instructed to follow SOPs issued by the government.
