Russia takes the lead in developing Coronavirus vaccine

4th October 2020: Russia has taken the lead in developing the coronavirus vaccine.

According to reports, the Russian vaccine has arrived in Venezuela and the Venezuelan President has thanked Russia.

According to international media, the first shipment of Russian-made corona vaccine Sputnik V has arrived in the Latin American country of Venezuela. Venezuela has become the first country in Latin America to receive the Russian vaccine.

On Friday, 2,000 people arrived at the international airport in the capital, Caracas, to be vaccinated.

Vice President Delcy Rodriguez accepted the cargo during a brief reception, after which it was transferred to a laboratory.

Venezuelan officials say they plan to begin testing the third phase of the vaccine’s clinical trial soon.
