References against Asif Zardari submitted in the court
Lahore, 5th October: The accountability court heard the case of Park Lane-Thatta water supply reference in Islamabad.
Islamabad Accountability Court Judge Azam Khan heard the case. The court asked the NAB prosecutor where is the lawyer of accused Sher Ali. Deputy Prosecutor General NAB replied that it is not the lawyer of the accused.
In the Park Lane supplementary reference, a charge sheet was given to former president Asif Ali Zardari.
Court has ordered NAB to testify on October 20 in Park Lane reference and to testify on October 21 in Thatta water supply reference
Witnesses Imran Mahmood, Ali Raza, Tariq Munir will be presented in Thatta Water Supply Supplementary Reference, Nabil Zahoor, Ahsan Aslam and Abdul Qabeer NAB will be presented in Park Lane Reference.
Earlier, NAB Rawalpindi had filed a supplementary reference in the Park Lane case. The names of 19 accused including Asif Zardari, Anwar Majeed and Abdul Ghani Majeed have been included in the NAB supplementary reference. In the supplementary reference, the amount of corruption has been increased to Rs 3.74 billion and the number of witnesses has also been increased.
The accountability court had issued a 17-page charge sheet of Park Lane Company reference, the charge sheet states that Asif Zardari made fake company Parthenon through Younis Qadwai and Iqbal Memon and that he planned loan from National Bank through fraud.
The charge sheet said that Rs 1.5 billion was circulated in fake accounts to cover up the criminal proceedings. Asif Zardari said that he had understood all the allegations and would reject them and defend himself.
It should be noted that the accountability court has indicted former president Asif Ali Zardari in the Park Lane reference. Former president Asif Ali Zardari denied the charge in the court, saying that he rejects all the allegations.
