Islamabad, 5th October 2020: Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser has said that the role of teachers in building and developing society is crucial.
He said that teaching is the noble profession that Allah SWT granted to His Prophets and Messengers for the betterment, prosperity and correction of mankind. The Seal of Prophethood, Prophet Muhammad SAW, declared the respect and obedience of teachers as mandatory.
The Speaker expressed these views during his message on the occasion of the World Teachers Day, that is observed on 5th October each year internationally under the auspices of the United Nations.
While paying a tribute to teachers, the Speaker said that they are the architects of the nation, and the stairs towards the success of the nation. He said that our religion places a great stress on the acquisition of education and teachers play the fundamental role in imparting the light of knowledge to the youth.
The Speaker said that this day is dedicated to these pillars of society who with their selflessness, courage, and devotion to the cause, give rise to an educated nation. The Speaker said that the promotion of education in the country is one of the foremost priorities of the incumbent government and in order to achieve thar goal it is imperative to give teachers their deserved status. He said that the current government is doing its best for the betterment of teachers and for giving them their due in society.
On the occasion, Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri noted in his message that teaching is a profession of the Messengers and therefore being associated with it is an honour. While paying his tributes to the efforts of teachers, he said that the role of teachers in building an educated and mature society is critical. He said that Islam has given teachers the status of spiritual parents; therefore respect and obedience to them is the duty of every citizen.
While paying his tribute to them on World Teachers Day, he said that whatever we are today, is owed to our teachers and salute to them for their services.
