Lahore, 6th October: PEMRA comes under fire after a video from a Pakistani drama goes viral talking openly about sexual acts.

According to the report of Baaghi TV, Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) is in hot water after an indecent video clip from a Pakistani drama goes viral.

Recently, a video clip has surfaced social media that has created an uproar among netizens. The video contains some vulgar dialogues from the senior actress Hina Khawaja Bayat.

She is seen telling her daughter how she got a promotion in her office. She tells her, “I used to give a ‘hand job’ to my boss two times a day. To a man who is about 20 years older than me to get the promotion.”

Such dialogues and that too in Pakistani dramas are least expected by the public. People have taken to social media to denounce the agency in a bid to restore what they feel is morally right for Pakistan’s entertainment future.

However, this time, people are calling out PEMRA for something it is not even responsible for.

It is to be noted that the video clip has been taken from the web series ‘Churails’ that is being on-aired on India’s digital channel Zee5.

News website Parhlo states that having said that, it is an Indian production that has not been showcased in Pakistan on any medium. Hence, PEMRA cannot be pointed fingers at here.

Meanwhile, Calls for banning such content became a top Twitter trend or #PEMRAFahashiBundKaro began trending on Twitter.

People believe that such indecent content is destroying our youth.

Social media users are demanding PEMRA to make sure TV channels refrain from showing what is an immoral demonstration of our society.

Similarly, Mehwish Hayat and Gala Biscuit TVC were top trending on Twitter. Netizens and notable personalities of the country have protested against the advertisement by Gala Biscuit on TV, which contains the obscene dance movements by the actress.

PEMRA took action on it and have issued instructions to the TV channels to monitor the advertisements.
