PARIS: French President Emmanuel Macron announced a nine-hour daily curfew in the wake of growing cases of the coronavirus pandemic.

According to reports, after the deteriorating situation of coronavirus in France, the President announced the imposition of curfew from 9 pm to 6 am.

The French president announced that the curfew will take effect on October 17 and will continue for the next six weeks, moreover, the government has also taken strict measures to control the alarming situation.

Earlier, the French health minister confirmed that another 22,950 cases of coronavirus had been reported in the country, of which 32% were in critical condition. He said that the government has re-imposed health emergency and strict decisions like lockdown will be taken in this regard which will be announced by the President.

The French president had said in a TV interview that the number of cases of coronavirus had decreased but now 3,000 to 5,000 cases are being reported daily.

On the other hand, the chief scientist of the World Health Organization (WHO), while expressing concern over the increase in COVID-19 cases, said that new cases globally would also mean an increase in deaths.

Furthermore, he said that we are losing 5,000 people every day.
