KARACHI, October 18, 2019 – The rich tributes were paid to the great visionary and reformer of the subcontinent Sir Syed Ahmed Khan at his 203rdbirth anniversary, observed under the aegis of Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys’ Association (AMUOBA) and Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET) at the campus.

Speaking on the auspicious occasion, the chief guest, Former Commissioner and the famous orator Shafiq Paracha said that the past is a frozen fact, you cannot change it. Sir Syed Ahmed Khan is a symbol of revolution and modernization.

Urdu language was the main driving force behind the Bination Theory that was first presented by Sir Syed Ahmed Khan. It eventually led to the formation of Pakistan.Sir Syed Ahmed Khan had a futuristic approach and for the better future of Muslims, he initiated education movement and established a chain of academic institutes. He focused on getting scientific education.

Addressing the seminar, President AMUOBA and Chancellor SSUET,Jawaid Anwar, said that Sir Syed Ahmed Khan was the great educator and Islamic reformer. He pioneered modern education for Muslim community.Time demands to follow the Sir Syed’s ideology in its true spirit. Sir Syed Ahmed Khan gave an individual identity to the Muslims of South Asia as a Nation that paved way for a separate country.

He pointed out that today youth havebeen driven towards the forced entrepreneurship due to the limited opportunities available for employment. Cottage industry needs to be developed for economic prosperity and stability.

Chancellor Jawaid Anwar paid glowing tribute to the Shaheed Liaquat Ali Khan who was assassinated on October 17. He highlighted the valuable services of Shaheed Hakeem Muhammad Saeed who gave the charter to Sir Syed University. He was shot dead in Karachi on October 16.

He also expressed the deep sorrow for the sad demise of the former Vice Chancellor of Sir Syed University, Prof. Dr. Syed Jawaid H. Rizvi who passed away a day before.

Renowned columnist and writer Rizwan Siddiqui said that the first person who raised voice for suppressed Muslims of the subcontinent was Sir Syed Ahmed Khan. He convinced the British rulers that Muslims were a separate nation in the subcontinent with their unique culture and religious doctrines.

Noted scholar and educationist, Dr. Shadab Ahsani said thatAsar us Sanadi is one of Sir Syed’s important contributions to the Muslims legacy featuring our values.Every era is influenced by a particular ideology or personality.

The universe has a dispute over invisible, not visible.The nation without narrative seems to be living in a dark age. Science is based on experiments and observations but you see that whatever you observe is not there in your reading content, and whatever you observe, you don’t find it around.

Presenting vote of thanks, General Secretary AMUOBA, Muhammad Arshad Khan said that strong will power and firm determination are the essential part of a great leader who takesthe nation to the successful journey through technological advancement based on invention and innovation. Sir Syed Ahmed Khan has contributed his share and now it is our duty to carry forward his mission.

He informed that AMUOBA will approach the authorities to include Sir Syed Day in the yearly calendar because Sir Syed Ahmed Khan initiated the bination theory that laid foundation to the formation of Pakistan.
