Non-Kashmiris allowed to buy land in occupied Kashmir

After abolishing the special status of occupied Kashmir, India has now taken another step against the rights of the oppressed Kashmiris.

According to the details, India has allowed non-Kashmiris to buy land in Occupied Kashmir on the 73rd anniversary of its illegal occupation. On Tuesday, the Indian Home Ministry issued a notification under which any non-Kashmiri can buy property and land in the occupied valley and will not even need a permanent residence certificate.

The Indian government has justified the move by setting up industries and employing youth in the occupied valley.

On the other hand, Hurriyat leaders and political leaders of the Occupied Territories have all spoken out against India’s move, calling it tantamount to killing the rights of Kashmiris.

Former Chief Minister of Occupied Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti termed the new imperialist tactic of Modi government as an attempt to deprive the people of Kashmir of their democratic rights and seize their resources and said that Kashmiris should unite and fight against such unconstitutional decisions.

Meanwhile, the Hurriyat Conference has called for a peaceful protest and strike in the Valley on Saturday against the imperialist laws of India. In addition, Pakistan has also rejected the illegal amendment of land ownership laws by India in occupied Kashmir.

The Foreign Office spokesman said the Indian move violated UN Security Council resolutions. Pakistan has repeatedly made it clear to the international community that India is changing the proportion of the population in illegally occupied Kashmir.
