Lahore, 7th January: PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz has said that the victims of the Machh tragedy are waiting for the government’s redressal.
Baaghi TV: Talking to media before leaving for Quetta from her residence Jati Umra, PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz said that the Machh massacre is a highly deplorable and heartbreaking incident.
She added that poor miners are waiting for someone to heal their sorrows. She said that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif had instructed her to go to Quetta.
She further added that the oppression of poor miners in the Hazara community has been going on for a long time. People are sitting on the streets with the bodies of their loved ones. It is our duty to stand with the victims of such an incident.

It is to be noted that the sit-in protest of the victims of the Machh massacre continues for the fifth day on the Western Bypass in Quetta. A shutter down strike is also being held in the city to show solidarity with the Hazara community.
Yesterday, for the first time, the provincial government came into action when the Chief Minister of Balochistan reached Quetta from Dubai. A high-level meeting was convened and important decisions were taken.
Federal and provincial ministers came to the site trying to persuade the protestors but all to no avail. The sit-in was conditional on the arrival of the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan in his message to the family had said that he will visit them soon and the protesters should bury the dead, but the heirs are adamant to end the protest on his arrival.
