February 10, 2021: According to the report by Baaghi TV, a sit-in of government employees is continuing in the federal capital Islamabad.
The Interior Secretary has directed the Interior Ministry Control Room to monitor the situation in Islamabad. All important places in Islamabad are being monitored directly from the Interior Ministry Control Room.
Political parties have condemned the arrests of government employees and demanded the release of the workers. Awami National Party leader Zahid Khan said that “those who protested against the government for 126 days are now not tolerating peaceful protests for a few hours. Instead of establishing dialogue with them, the authorities are subjecting the unarmed and peaceful employees to tear gas and violence during the dictatorship, people from all walks of life are forced to protest against the poor policies of the rulers. Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Senator Siraj-ul-Haq said that police violence against government employees is a very shameful tactic and reprehensible. The demands of government employees should be met immediately. Salary increase is a basic right of government employees. The storm of inflation has made people’s lives miserable. PTI government should stop employing Fascist tactics. We fully support the demands of government employees. Arrested government employees should be released immediately.
PPP announces support for protests and demands of government employees. PPP strongly condemns shelling on government employees. PPP leader Nayyar Bukhari says that he strongly condemns shelling and roundup on employees, including protesting employees. Every citizen has a constitutional right and no one can stop it. Inhumane violence on the demand for salary increase is a reflection of fascism. Obstructing the way of employees protesting for their rights is a sign of poor leadership. The incompetent government has turned the red zone into a battlefield because they panicked and could are not competent to deal with the issue at hand.
Information Minister Nasir Hussain Shah has condemned the tear gas and shelling on government employees and said that he condemns inhumane violence on employees. He said, “If the federal government had accepted the demands of government employees, such a situation would not have arisen.”
