22nd February, 2021: Today, at about 1200 hours, the SP Barkhan and Rep of RO CTD Zhob Div has informed the undersigned that an IED blast has been reported near Rakni at zandan (A- area ). Meanwhile, The BD team left for incident site, forthwith.
During the S&S, the BD team recovered gadgets of an IED as reported from the incident site. The explosives used in was weighing about 500 grams. The mechanism of the IED was Alpha Fire Fireworks remote. This system is cheap, plug and play, reliable and infinitely repeatable. Actually, The IED was planted to target a vehicle of construction company which escaped narrowly, luckily.
However, the vehicle damaged slightly with no casualties/injuries to the driver etc. The BD again searched & cleared the area and the case properties were handed over to the concerned LEA for further obligation.
