Lahore, 28th February:  Prime Minister Imran Khan has launched Al-Beruni Radius, a tourism project in Jhelum for the revival of Pakistan’s heritage.

Baaghi TV: According to a statement from the PM office, PM Khan launched on Sunday, the Al-Beruni Radius project at the Nandana Fort in Jehlum to promote tourism in the country.

The statement said that the prime minister is keen to preserve and conserve the site, and is aimed at converting it into an international tourism site.

The statement shared on the Twitter account of the Prime Minister’s Office, Pakistan read, “The site’s archaeological significance dates back to the 11th century when famous scholar Abu Rehan Al-Beruni during his stay quantified the circumference of the Earth. Later he wrote a famous book about the region and mentioned Nandana as a great centre of learning.”

The historical Nandana Fort is located in Tehsil Pind Dadan Khan of district Jhelum.

As per reports, the project is being undertaken as part of the prime minister’s vision to promote tourism in accordance with the National Tourism Strategy 2020-30.
