February 28, 2021: Lahore: India and France are strong opponents of Pakistan in the FATF meeting, the reason has also come to light. According to reports, the reason for France’s opposition to Pakistan has come to light in the FATF meeting more than India.
According to foreign media reports, France has emerged as Pakistan’s biggest opponent of India in the FATF. They have strongly opposed to Pakistan being being removed from the grey list.
France’s open opposition to Pakistan is due to France’s defense deals with India or the Pakistani government’s response to the re-display of blasphemous sketches in recent months. Questions were being raised about it, but Najamuddin Sheikh, a prominent Pakistani diplomat and former foreign secretary, said France could do something to boost its trade agreements with India that would please India.
He said that it seems that India and France are on the same page regarding Pakistan. He said that if France’s attitude towards Pakistan is seen in the light of its defense equipment sales with India, then the reason for France’s opposition is understandable. India has recently signed several defense production agreements with France, including the Raphael deal.
