Lahore, 12th March: Elderly citizens are being administered the first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine in Punjab earlier this week.

Baaghi TV: According to reports, approximately 7,582 elderly citizens have been jabbed with the first shot of the coronavirus vaccine since the second phase of the vaccination drive kicked off earlier this week.

A spokesperson for the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department informed that 7,582 people aged above 60 years have been inoculated against the coronavirus in Punjab.

He added that a total of 207,464 elderly citizens got themselves registered for vaccination.

Of the total, 1,298 people got the first shot at Lahore Expo Centre the day the second phase started.

It is to be noted that the Punjab government has imposed a smart lockdown in the areas of Lahore, Gujranwala and Gujarat where the positivity rate is high.
