March 18, 2021: According to the report of Baaghi TV, the disqualification case of Faisal Wawda was heard in the Election Commission.
Barrister Moeed, lawyer of Faisal Wawda, also appeared before the Election Commission. Faisal Wawda’s lawyer requested the Election Commission to reject all petitions against Faisal Wawda. Later, the petitions against me before the Election Commission have become ineffective.
According to the decisions of the Supreme Court, the Election Commission is not a court, therefore it does not have the power to disqualify any Member of Parliament, the petitioner said. Counsel for the petitioner said that Faisal Wawda is coming here and giving a speech, to which the Chief Election Commissioner said that you should not be emotional, Faisal Wawda has the right to defend himself. Addressing Faisal Wawda, the Chief Election Commissioner said that “Faisal Wawda Sir, I will give you full opportunity, I will listen to you after the arguments of your lawyer.”
Lawyer Faisal Wawda said that the Election Commission can investigate the false affidavits on its own but the opponents cannot be a party in this matter. Can investigate the letter but opponents cannot be a party in this matter.
The Election Commission asked Faisal Wawda if he considered his affidavit submitted in 2018 to be correct. On which the lawyer said that my affidavit is 100% correct, the Election Commission is not a court of law, the opposition party is campaigning against Faisal Wawda on social media, Faisal Wawda said that if the document from the opposition party is original, then I will live with consequences.
Faisal Wawda’s lawyer said that if we first start the investigation by rejecting the petitions of the opposing parties, then I will start arguments on the affidavit submitted, on which the Chief Election Commissioner said that you cannot dictate to the commission, give arguments And the commission will decide.
The lawyer said that I have referred you to the decision of the Sindh High Court. Member Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Irshad Qaiser said that we do not look at anyone’s party or form, we look at the law books, the Chief Election Commissioner said. Directs Faisal Wawda’s lawyer to give arguments on ineffectiveness of petitions.
Member Punjab Altaf Ibrahim said that you are repeatedly dictating to us to dismiss this case, you are using the word ‘must be’. The Chief Election Commissioner directed the petitioner’s counsel to give arguments on the ineffectiveness of the petitions.Member Punjab said that we should give a verdict and Qadir Khan Mandokhel should submit affidavit that this is not my lawyer. Today, Faisal Wawda has filed a new petition. The Chief Election Commissioner said that the situation has changed after the resignation of Faisal Wawda in the National Assembly seat.
