Lahore, 22nd March, 2:45 PM: The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has ordered a crackdown on violations of SOPs during the third wave of coronavirus pandemic.

Baaghi TV: According to reports, NCOC head Asad Umar has announced a crackdown on violations of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to increase restrictions of activities after contributing a sharp spike in COVID-19 cases.

Asad Umar shared in a Twitter message that it has been decided to increase restrictions of activities in the NCOC meeting today.

He wrote, “In the NCOC meeting this morning we decided to increase restrictions of activities contributing to a sharp increase in covid positivity. The provincial & ICT administration were also directed to tighten implementation of sop’s and crack down on violations that are taking place.”

Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid confirmed today that the positivity rate of COVID cases in Lahore has reached 12 per cent.

The Punjab health minister warned that people should strictly follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) designed to contain the spread of the COVID-19 as the number of coronavirus cases are increasing rapidly in Punjab.

It is to be noted that the health authorities have warned that the country is currently undergoing the third wave of coronavirus which is more lethal and dangerous.
