CAIE Exams: High Courts in Pakistan announced their verdict against the students’ plea
Lahore, 23rd April: Courts in Pakistan have dismissed students’ petition seeking a switch to school assessed grades for Cambridge CAIE exams this year.
According to reports, the High Courts of Peshawar, Lahore, Islamabad and Sindh on Friday dismissed the petitions filed by the students against the government’s decision to hold physical CAIE exams in Pakistan.
Earlier in the day, Islamabad High Court disregarded the students’ plea and advised them to take their case before the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC).
Sindh High Court too dismissed the plea and announced its verdict around 4 pm.

As per reports, students had filed an appeal to cancel their O and A level exams which they are supposed to give in person during the third deadly wave of coronavirus.
Students had requested the authorities to give them the teachers assessed grades this year keeping in view the situation of the pandemic in the country.
The four High Courts in the country have dismissed the petitions saying that the grievances of the party fall within the domain of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) and that the court can not interfere with NCOC’s decision.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Cambridge exams in India, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar and other countries have already been cancelled owing to the coronavirus situation.
