Lahore, 24th May: India is on high alert for another cyclone coming in the next ten days.
According to reports, deep depression is being formed in the Bay of Bengal that has transformed into a cyclone, which may hit India in the next ten days.
The Indian Meteorological Department said that the cyclone arising from the Bay of Bengal has been named Yaas, which is 600 km away from India’s Port Blair.
India’s Met Department has forecasted that the storm will hit the eastern states of West Bengal and Odisha. The depression is expected to transform into a severe hurricane in the next 24 hours.
It is pertinent to mention here that last week Cyclone Tauktae hit the western coast of India that killed nearly 140 people and displaced hundreds of them.
Cyclone Yaas will be the second storm to hit the already pandemic-stricken country only after 10 days of Cyclone Tauktae.
In neighboring Bangladesh, authorities have issued orders for fishermen, boats and trawlers over the north of the Bay of Bengal, to move closer to the coast ahead of Cyclone Yaas.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Met Department said that Cyclone Yaas will not reach Pakistan and will not cause any suspension in Karachi’s sea winds.
According to reports, last week Cyclone Tauktae caused warm winds and dust storms in the port city that passed by Pakistan’s coastal belt without touching it.
