Lahore, 25th May: Saudi astronomers say that the sun will align with the Kaaba at the Grand Mosque on Thursday.
The sun will be directly above the Kaaba on May 27 and only then will it be possible to determine the direction of the Qibla.
According to reports from the Arab media, on Thursday, May 27, according to the time of Makkah Mukarramah, the sun will be directly above the Kaaba at 12:18 pm.
Hence, this will allow determining the correct direction of Qibla around the world. There will be no shadow of Baitullah.
According to the Saudi Astronomical Institute, the Sun will be at an angle of about 90 degrees above the Kaaba, which is the first event of the year 2021.

Majid Abu Zahra, head of the Jeddah Astronomical Society, said people could determine the correct direction of the Kaaba by placing a wooden stick vertically in the ground. The direction of the Qiblah will be exactly like the shadow of a stick.
According to astronomers, due to the tilt of the Earth’s axis, the Sun travels 23.5 degrees north and south of the celestial equator, hence, the sun falls directly on the equator.
