Lahore, 1st July: The power crisis in Pakistan has intensified after a shortfall of electricity has been reported.
According to reports, the countrywide power crisis has intensified as the overall electricity shortfall reached 6000 megawatts on Thursday.
According to details, there is a demand of 25000 megawatts across the country, while the overall power supply from various resources is around 19000MW, which is 6000MW lesser than the demand.
In large cities, the power outages have reached six to eight hours daily, while small towns and villages are facing up to 10 hours of load shedding in a day.
Sources have informed that after reports of a drop in electricity generation at various sources due to several reasons, the shortfall has increased.
Sources also tell that the shortfall has increased due to a reduction in power generation from RLNG and hydel power generation sources.
Karachi, Lahore and other big cities of the country are facing several hours of load shedding daily.
As per reports, many areas in Karachi that were free from power load-shedding once are now facing frequent power outages.
In Lahore, almost all areas suffer prolonged power outages on a daily basis as the power crisis has reached 800 megawatts following the increase in demand for electricity.
