Saudi Arabia Announces a Health Escort for every 20 Pilgrims during Hajj 2021
RIYADH: According to a Saudi official, Saudi Arabia has announced to designate a health escort for every 20 pilgrims who will be performing Hajj this year.
Spokesperson for the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Hesham Saeed has said that an escort will be appointed for every 20 pilgrims who will act as a health leader to offer guidance in implementing precautionary measures and ensuring SOPs during Hajj.
He further said that for the ritual circumambulation of the Holy Ka’aba during the pilgrimage, 25 tracks have been made in the courtyard of the Grand Mosque in Makkah.
Preparatory measures for the pilgrims on entering and leaving the mosque are also under consideration.
According to Saudi officials, The Kingdom has announced that all pilgrims must be carry Covid-19 vaccination certificate and they must be free from the virus. The age group for the pilgrims is set to be 18 to 65 years.
The Ministry of Hajj has also asked the accepted Hajj applicants that they must receive the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
