In the first match of the ODI series against England, the captain of the national cricket team, Babar Azam, got out at zero and walked away from an important honor.
Pakistani captain Babar Azam, who is currently ranked No. 1 in ODI cricket, had scored 3808 runs in 78 innings of 80 ODIs before the first match against England and scored 192 runs in 2 more innings. After which he would become the fastest batsman to complete 4000 runs in the world.
But in the first ODI, Babar Azam made his mission impossible by getting out at zero, now he will have to score 192 runs in an innings to make it possible, which seems difficult.
South Africa’s Hashim Amla currently holds the record for the fastest 4000 runs in ODI cricket, having set the record in 81 innings of 84 matches. Babar Azam’s matches are few but in the second ODI against England, Babar Azam will be playing the 80th innings of his career.
The list of the fastest 4000 runs includes South Africa’s Hashim Amla, West Indies’ Sir Vivian Richards, England’s Joe Root and India’s captain Virat Kohli.
Owen Richards had done it in 88 innings of 96 matches while England’s Joe Root had scored 4000 runs in 91 innings of 97 matches and if we talk about Indian captain Virat Kohli, he has scored 93 runs in 96 ODIs. He had completed 4000 runs in the innings.
Babar Azam now has a golden opportunity to score 192 runs in the series against England and leave these best players behind.
If Babar scores 192 runs in 2 innings, he will equal the record of fastest 4000 runs in terms of innings and will be the fastest batsman to score 4000 runs in terms of matches.
The second ODI between Pakistan and England will be played on July 10.
