Oil was found in the Federal Capital of Islamabad during excavation of the H-13 area. Authorities have since cordoned off the place to prevent thievery.
According to details, during the excavation of the H-13 area in Islamabad, oil erupted from the earth as the ground was being bore into for water. Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat announced on Twitter that the place was sealed off now since locals were stealing and selling it.

The people started filling drums with oil, while many citizens dug wells and illegally extracted the oil to sell it. Consequently, strict action was taken by the administration. They sealed off the site when they heard of the ongoings and sent samples of the oil to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

The Deputy Commissioner said that Assistant Commissioner Abdullah Khan of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has been informed of the situation, and now OGRA is reviewing the samples.
