Muzaffarabad:To maintain law and order during the Azad Kashmir elections, roughly 43,500 Azad Kashmir Police, Civil Armed Forces, and Army soldiers would be deployed from other provinces.

The Chief Secretary said that 5,300 police personnel from Azad Kashmir, 12,000 from Punjab Police, 10,000 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 1,000 from Islamabad Police, 400 from Frontier Constabulary and 3,200 from Rangers were deployed to maintain law and order.
In addition, these personnel will be supported by 6,000 to 7,000 soldiers of the Pakistan Army.
The Chief Secretary said that out of 5,123 polling stations, 826 have been declared sensitive while 209 have been declared highly sensitive.
He said that 6 security personnel would be deployed at the most sensitive polling stations, 4 at sensitive polling stations and 4 at normal polling stations.
The Chief Secretary Azad Kashmir said that all government departments such as Communications and Works and Electricity have been alerted for the relevant arrangements in connection with the elections while all government employees have been given only one day off on Eid-ul-Adha.
He said that besides all the presiding officers and magistrates, 250 officers have also been given magisterial powers so that they can decide on the spot.
He further said that all necessary financial resources have been provided to the Election Commission and the administrative machinery and also claimed that the code of conduct issued by the Election Commission for the government machinery is also being fully implemented.
He said that in this regard, there is a complete ban on appointments, transfers and promotions of government employees except for a few necessary cases for which prior permission has been sought from the commission while new appointments have also been stopped.
In response to a question, he acknowledged the lack of implementation of Corona virus SOPs during election rallies.
The Chief Secretary further said that control rooms have been set up at the central and district levels for receiving information, adding that the personnel would be deployed in the premises of polling stations and not in the polling booths.
