Islamabad: National Cyber Security Policy 2021 has been adopted by the Federal Cabinet.

According to reports, the Ministry of Information Technology has reached another another milestone. The Federal Cabinet has adopted Pakistan’s first National Cyber Security Policy, which was developed by the Ministry of Information Technology.

A Cyber Governance Policy Committee has also been formed to carry out the policy, keep track of events, develop a plan, and take action.

Federal Minister Amin-ul-Haq praised the Ministry of Information Technology’s personnel and specialists for developing the most essential policy in such a short amount of time.

Amin-ul-Haq said the cyber policy will bind public and private entities in terms of data, services, ICT goods, and systems. Any cyber attack on a Pakistani institution will be considered.

According to the Federal Minister, in the event of a cyber assault, all necessary and retaliatory measures would be implemented, and the cyber security process in public and private service networks would be coordinated and strengthened.

She said that a computer emergency response team would be developed at the national sector and institutional level, with experts and all necessary and modern instruments to maintain cyber security, while a budget of Rs 1.92 billion has been provided for this response team at the national level.
