Digital Journalism Further, DMW will focus on strengthening the presence of digital media in Pakistan.

Fawad said that in modern times wars were being fought “on the media”, and only nations that have a strong narrative have succeeded.
He added that the launch of the National Digital Media Platform would help in projecting Pakistan’s image and national narrative more effectively at the international level.
Fawad said that the Ministry of Information had unfortunately been downgraded in the past because it had become the mouthpiece of the ruling parties.
He added that despite the martyrdom of more than 70,000 Pakistanis in the war on terror, Pakistan remained defensive because it could not offer the sacrifices effectively.
Fawad said it was an important day for the transformation of state media in Pakistan. Pakistan Television, launched in 1964, was going HD, Radio Pakistan moved to the Internet and the app was digitized.
The Minister said that despite many problems, the Press Information Department has become paperless, as all the process of issuing advertisements to media outlets, including the billing process, has been computerized, which has eliminated human involvement.
He added that for the first time, media houses have no obligations against the government. The Minister said that Rs.670 million was paid to media houses in the last three months which also helped in paying the arrears of media workers.
Fawad said that a Media Technology University is also being set up to bring new technology in film and television production.
