North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg has said, we will not allow terrorists from Afghanistan to become a threat to us again, Afghan forces have failed to defend their country.

According to foreign media, Stoltenberg told a press conference that due to the actions of Russia and China, it is necessary for NATO countries to maintain a strong alliance.

Stoltenberg urged the Taliban to keep its promises to the international community. He stressed that the Taliban should not become a hotbed of terrorism in Afghanistan and should not obstruct the evacuation process. The world wants to see a peaceful and stable Afghanistan.

He called on President Joe Biden not to leave Kabul and to ensure that as many people as possible could leave Afghanistan safely in his presence.

Moreover, Jens Stoltenberg said NATO allies have decided to send more planes to Afghanistan. NATO never intended to stay in Afghanistan forever, fearing that the Taliban would regain control.

The NATO secretary-general said he had no idea the Taliban would take over Afghanistan so soon. The safety of NATO personnel is paramount in Afghanistan. As long as possible, the NATO diplomatic mission will remain in Kabul.

“NATO allies are deeply concerned about the escalating violence caused by the Taliban attack, including reports of attacks on civilians, targeted killings, and serious human rights violations,” Stoltenberg told a news conference. NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg has said that Pakistan, as a neighbor, has a big responsibility regarding Afghanistan because, in addition to its Afghan leadership, it has special ties with the Taliban.

The NATO secretary-general said being a neighbor, Pakistan has extensive contacts with the Afghan leadership and the Taliban. Therefore, it has a special responsibility to prevent Afghanistan from falling back into the hands of terrorists.

Additionally, Jens Stoltenberg NATO Secretary-General said the Taliban needed to understand that they would not be recognized by the international community if they seized power by force.
