Two of the 146 people who returned to India from Afghanistan today have reportedly tested positive for COVID-19. The development was confirmed by Rajinder Kumar, Nodal Officer of the Delhi government for COVID-19 testing of Afghanistan returnees.

According to the existing guidelines for foreign returnees in the country, the two will be placed in isolation and tested for COVID-19 before being allowed to mix in the society. The identities of the individuals who reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 are not yet known.

Earlier today, a batch of 146 Indians was evacuated from Afghanistan via Doha. The group reached the national capital on Monday morning.
