Aug 27, 2021: The US embassy has contacted Pakistani officials for a telephone call from Zahir Jaffer, the main accused in the Noor Muqadam murder case, on the grounds that the accused is a US citizen.

The Interior Ministry has not yet responded. The US embassy will be answered after the meeting by the Interior Ministry. In this regard, Baaghi TV contacted Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed by telephone but no contact was established.

On the other hand, according to the news agency, the father of accused Zahir Jaffer has requested the jail authorities to give him B class in the jail, and said that he should be given better facilities. Zahir Jaffer has also demanded that he be transferred to a good five star jail.

Meanwhile, the bail application of the employees of therapy works in the Zahir Jaffer trial for murdering Noor Muqaddam, was heard in Islamabad.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued notices to Shaukat Muqaddam (father of Noor Muqaddam) on a petition seeking revocation of bail. The Islamabad High Court sought record of the case and reply from all the accused.

In Noor Muqaddam murder case, the father of the victim had approached the court to cancel the bail of the employees and owner of the therapy works. That the Additional District and Sessions Judge did not meet the requirements of justice, the court disregarded the rules and regulations laid down by the Supreme Court while granting bail, the accused were present on the spot.

The petition filed in the court further said that the facts about the injury of accused Amjad Mahmood were hidden in the hospital, the accused also hid the facts of cancellation of bail of Zakir Jaffer and Ismat Adam and now the accused are threatening the petitioner, not cancel the bail. This can cause irreparable damage to the applicant.
