Sept 1, 2021: The identification parade of 158 suspects arrested in the Tick Tocker attack case on Minar Pakistan will be held on Wednesday.
According to details, the identification parade camp will be held in the presence of a judicial magistrate in the jail. The identification parade has been arranged by the prison staff.
Ayesha Akram, who failed to attend the identity parade on August 28, will be brought to the camp jail under police security. On this occasion, section 144 will be enforced in the areas adjacent to the camp jail to avoid any untoward incident.
The incident took place on August 14 as people were celebrating Independence Day in Greater Iqbal Park. Police registered a case against 400 suspects after a video of the incident went viral on social media.
Speaking to the media, the victim described the horrific ordeal she was going through. She recalled how people shook her earrings, hurt her ears and caused distress.
Ayesha Akram said referring to the incident, “They jostled and threw me into the air as if I were a toy or have come from some other world and snatched my bracelet, purse, mobile phones and everything I had that day,” she recounted.
For the identification parade, strict security arrangements have been made outside the jail, a heavy contingent of police has been deployed, there is a severe traffic jam on Ferozepur Road on this occasion.
On the other hand, the case related to the Minar Pakistan incident was heard in the Lahore High Court. The court reserved its decision on the admissibility of the petition. Whether to do so or not is a matter for the Sessions Court. The petition asked the court to take criminal action against the woman for inciting the mob.
It is to be noted that incidents of assault on women are on the rise in Lahore, the provincial capital of Punjab. After the Minar Pakistan incident, a video of assault on a woman riding a rickshaw also came to light.
