No backtracking on purchasing S-400 from Russia: Erdogan.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reiterated his stance; Turkey woud not withdraw froma deal signed with Russsia regarding purchase of S-400.

According to the reports of Baaghitv, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made clear that his county is noy going to step back from pursuing the decision of buying S-400 from Russia. Turkey, being a NATO member is not allowed to purchase arms from Russia, however, Turkey has inked a deal with Russia for purchase of S-400.

NATO ally US is irked with the decision of Turkey, as it has been the contentious issue between two countries and US has threatened to impose sanctions on Turkey, if Turkey does not reverse its decision. US Acting Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs, Kathryn Wheelbarger said the planned purchase would damage the Turkey abilities to work with the western alliance.

US officials said they expect Turkey to buy American Patriot Missiles and then the Turkish plan of buying 100 US F-35s will take place.
