Sept 16, 2021: Coldplay recently announced their upcoming collaboration with BTS under the name My Universe and fans are super excited.

After months of endless speculation and built-up excitement, the two musical acts are joining together for a powerful musical single, ‘My Universe’ written by Cold Play and BTS and produced by legendary music producer Max Martin. The new single will be sung in both English and Korean and will release on the 24th September.

News of the collaboration first came on Twitter in June. In the last couple of months the two bands have expressed appreciation for each other, with BTS saying the Emmy nominated Cold Play single ‘Fix You’ was significant to the band in its difficult times.

In a recent interview with Poperush, Martin shared: “When it comes to BTS, I just have nothing but love and respect for them. All seven guys, I think they’re just cool, stand for good things and sing about cool things. I love the fact that they are so huge and sing a lot in Korean, they don’t always have to sing in English. I love them a lot and so if the right song came along, I wouldn’t ever say no.”
He also revealed: “I love that band… because love what they stand for as people.”

‘My Universe’ comes as the second single off Cold play’s forthcoming album Music of the Spheres, following ‘Higher Power’.
Meanwhile, BTS recently released their record-breaking singles ‘Butter’ and ‘Permission To Dance’. Both groups are scheduled to perform at the upcoming Global Citizen Live event on 25 September which will be held across 8 cities around the world.

Since announcing the track, both groups have released teasers of the track being recorded in a session in Korea earlier this year including a photo of Cold Play front man Chris Martin with the BTS group. Both acts shared the preview of the upcoming track on their Tik Tok channels.

The ‘My Universe’ single CD was available for pre order in South Korea on WEverse but sold out in the first 10 minutes. Meanwhile CDs of the single will be available on the Cold Play store after release.

The announcement was made via the band’s official Twitter account and is already ready for order. For those who will be following the Mine Universe Cold Play’s Higher Power single, it’s part of the band’s upcoming album, Music of the Spears, which will be released on October 15.

All of Coldplay’s past albums have managed to make it big on UK’s music charts with their 2008 Viva La Vida and2011 Paradise.
