Lahore: The private munshis have become custodian of public record in Patwar Khanas instead of Patwaris while assistant commissioners have observed complete silence on the practice accross the province, it is learnt.
On the other hand, Anti-Corruption Punjab could not take a single action against private munshis in five months.
Five months ago, the DG Anti-Corruption was directed to take action by the Bahalpur High Court and the Board of Revenue.
He was told that Private munshis should not be allowed to sit in any Patwara Khana, but instruction have been ignored.
The SMBR BoR directed all the ACs and tehsildars to ensure munshis are not practicing in patwar khans.
He said that action would be taken against Tehsildar and AC for presence of private munshi in Patwar Khana.
Anti-Corruption Lahore Region A Investigation Officers have failed to take any action against anyone.
It is pertinent to mention that less numbers of patwaris in all patwar khanas of Lahore and rampant increase in the number of munshis is a blatant violation of court orders and directives of the Board of Revenue.
It has been revealed that Patwar Khana is being run on contract with the backing of Anti-Corruption Lahore Region A.
According to reports, Anti-Corruption Lahore Region has given a clean chit to the fake Patwaris occupying official records.
Sources said that fake patwaris in Lahore district have open a market of corruption, the registry law has also been blown up.
On the other hand, Anti-Corruption Department spokesman while recording his position said that anti-corruption is taking action all over Punjab.
He said that Anti-Corruption Department and the BoR are working out a joint crackdown.
