Oct 21, 2021: Security officials in Afghanistan have arrested 250 militants affiliated with the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group in the past month, local media reported Thursday.

“A total of 250 IS-linked people, many of whom have escaped from prisons, have been arrested,” Tolo News television channel quoted Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid as saying.

Mujahid said some of the arrested militants had planned terrorist attacks, such as bombings, which were foiled.
