Oct 29, 2021: PIA CEO Arshad Malik expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Captain Fazal Ghani Mian.

Captain Fazal Ghani Mian was a renowned pilot of PIA. In 1987, PIA commissioned Captain Ghani to oversee Emirates Airlines flight operations. Captain Ghani joins PIA after refusing offer of citizenship from the UAE.

Captain Ghani was a very patriotic and dutiful person.

He was the pilot at the controls of Emirates first flight EK600 from Dubai to Karachi operated on October 25, 1985, with an Airbus A300 leased from PIA.

After former Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and Emirates pilot Captain Fazle Ghani passed away, PIA CEO Air Marshal Arshad Malik wrote on his Twitter handle, calling the deceased Captain the Pride of Pakistan.

“#Aviation Capt Fazle Ghani passed away after prolonged illness. Lead founder pilot for @emirates ,he was deputed by #PIA to set it up. Refused #UAE nationality & preferred returning to PIA after establishing Emirates”
