Lahore: The two-day photography exhibition titled “Aaj Ke Naam” opens here on Wednesday at Alhamra Arts Center, The Mall. The exhibition features 25t artworks by four artists, Ghazanfar Bhandar, Abdulwaris, Muhammad Saeed Rao, and Syed Israr Haider.
The photographs in the exhibition show the living conditions, art and craft, sources of employment, hard work, banner, courage, difficulties of life, fairs, and village life. Artist Ghazanfar Bhandar said at the opening of the exhibition
The artist Ghazanfar Bhandar said that Photography is a tool for self-exploration, a source of pain, joy, and inspiration. Every situation comes with emotional impact varying from person to person and radically diverse responses drive me to behold and click the shutter button on my gadget. He further said that a successful image resonates with the collective memory, acting as an emotional trigger of universal feelings in different people. I am displaying images from the immediacy of rebellious souls and surroundings of unforgiving terrains of harsh realities where dreams strive in illustrious Eyes that have courageously refused to yield, he added.
Artist Israr Naqvi said that as far as my work is concerned, my work revolves around the ordinary person’s struggle, a symbol of human dignity. My work shows that life is a picture of many colors.
Artist Abdulwaris said that I had been touched on topics that would help to improve the lives of our future generations. The purpose of my work is to keep the viewer aware of his surroundings, he added.
The artist Saeed Rao said that mothers have always been a symbol of perseverance and courage. My pictures reveal how mothers struggle for their children in the Thar Desert.
All the artists thanked the administration of the Lahore Arts Council for providing facilities for the exhibition. A large number of people attended the exhibition and admired the artworks of artists. The exhibition will continue till 2nd DEC.
