Karak: Polling time for local body elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has ended.

It may be recalled that since this morning, many people have been killed and dozens injured in clashes at most places in the province. Allegations were also made that polling stations in Khyber were fired upon and vandalized. At least two people were killed and four others were injured in a firing incident at a polling station in Kirkuk.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa local body elections, workers came face to face in many places. Voting was also suspended at some polling stations due to disputes. A scuffle broke out at a women’s polling station in Shah Alam Tehsil, Peshawar. There was also a commotion in Kakshal and Vahid Garhi, with candidates blaming each other for rigging. Police arrested a man in the presence of men at the women’s polling station in Pashtrahah.

A close relative and personal bodyguard of PTI MNA Shahid Khattak was shot dead by unidentified gunmen during polling in Karak district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to police sources, the incident took place in Huda Banda during polling. Two persons were killed and six others were injured in the incident. The deceased have been identified as Abid Ali and Nejat.

Police said that the deceased were cousins ​​of PTI MPA Shahid Khattak while Nijat was also the personal bodyguard of PTI MPA National Assembly. Moved.

According to the police, the incident took place near Takht-e-Nusrati High School.

It should be noted that in the first phase of local body elections in KP, the voting process is going on today.

However, as the polls drew to a close, the tussle between political activists intensified, with police firing in the air at several police stations to disperse the activists.

The groundwork has been laid for local body elections in 17 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Polling started at 8 am and will continue till 5 pm without any break. Elections were postponed due to poor law and order situation in Bakakhel Tehsil of Bannu. Chaos also took place in other areas.

Districts of the province including Peshawar, Nowshera, Charsadda, Khyber, Mohmand, Mardan, Swabi, Kohat, Karak, Hangu, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, Haripur, Buner and Bajaur. 26,68,862 voters exercised their franchise. A total of 9223 polling stations and a total of 28892 polling booths were set up for these elections, out of which 4188 polling stations have been declared sensitive and 2507 more sensitive. Appropriate security arrangements have been made in this regard.
