Jan 31, 2022: According to a report by Baaghi TV, a private school network called The City School has allegedly started sending notices late fee and penalty notices to parents even after receiving the fees in the bank.
City School Ravi Campus Lahore is sending notices of non-payment of fees to the parents even after receipt of fees in the bank, which shows incompetence or negligence on the part of the school administration.
Parents of students studying at City School Ravi Campus have contacted BaaghiTV. One father said, “for the last one year, I have been paying my son’s school fees through Bank Al-Falah’s internet banking payment portal and on a regular basis,”
“But now I received the challan form dated January 29, 2022 in which the late November fee along with the penalty was written. Although I had paid the November fee, I checked my bank statement to confirm it. It also confirmed that the school fee has been paid by me. I took a screenshot of the payment and sent it to the school but we did not accept this payment from the school administration. E-mailed again asking me to provide the details of the transaction along with the account number of the school to which the fee was transferred.”
He said on December 31, 2021, he went to the Bank branch which provided him with the full details of the transaction as well as the time, date and account number of the school to which the money was transferred. Payment was made on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at 7:44 PM and was charged from his account on Monday, November 1, 2021.
The father said that due to confidentiality reasons, the bank could not provide him with the school’s bank statement. “Now, on January 28, I was asked by another e-mail from the school to pay the penalty.” He said.
He said he went to the bank again and sent an e-mail and lodged a complaint. On the morning of Monday 31st January, he received two calls and e-mails from the bank stating that the fee has been paid to the bank. He said there are now two options: either take action against the school or apply to the banking ombudsman against the bank.
The father said when the fee has been paid from their end then the money from the bank should be transferred to the school and the school saying a record of the transactions exist online, hence there is no room for error, but now a complaint has been lodged on Pakistan Citizen Portal and the parents are awaiting a response.
