Jan 31, 2022: Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Special Assistant for Political Relations Shahbaz Gill has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has rejected the summary of increase in prices of petroleum products. 

According to a report by BaaghiTV, Shahbaz Gill on social networking site Twitter said that there is no change in the prices of petroleum products at the moment. Prime Minister Imran Khan did not approve the summary to increase petrol by Rs 11 and diesel by Rs 14 per liter.

Shahbaz Gill said that the Prime Minister said that oil prices are rising due to rising inflation all over the world. The government will do its utmost to save the people of Pakistan from this inflation. Prices will not change at this time.

It may be recalled that earlier OGRA had recommended prices of petroleum products for the next 15 days. Prices will go up further, for which OGRA had sent its recommendations to the Ministry of Petroleum.

Sources said that OGRA had sent a summary of increase in prices of petroleum products to Rs9.50 per liter, and in the summary petrol was Rs5.50 per liter, diesel Rs7 per liter, kerosene Rs9.50 per liter and light diesel Rs7 per liter. An increase of 80 paisa per liter was recommended. New prices of petroleum products were likely to be announced for the next 15 days.
