Lahore: Punjab Inspector General of Police Rao Sardar Ali Khan has said that crackdown against proclaimed offenders, court absconders and anti-social elements should be intensified and no effort should be spared in arresting professional criminals of serious crimes.
IG Punjab said that officers themselves must be seen in the field to eradicate the drug criminal gang and to control kite flying and aerial firing.
Rao Sardar Ali Khan said that concrete steps should be taken to curb other crimes including cattle theft, dacoity and murder. IG Punjab directed that operations on incidents of abuse and violence against women and children should be continued under zero tolerance and implementation of National Action Plan should be ensured. Officers should also be seen in the field at night. IG Punjab said that the citizens should be treated with good manners and job of police should be considered as a sacred obligation. IG Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan said that corrupt elements have no place in the police force, fulfill your duty with utmost honesty. He expressed these views while presiding over a crime meeting at DPO office Sheikhupura today and addressing officers and personnel at Police Darbar.
On arrival at Sheikhupura, a well-armed contingent of Sheikhupura Police saluted IG Punjab. IG Punjab inaugurated a new building of Police Station Factory Area and also planted a tree in the lawn. He also visited different sections of police station and examined available facilities. IG Punjab visited the memorial of martyrs and laid a wreath of flowers. He met the families and children of martyrs of Sheikhupura region in police lines and after hearing their problems issued orders on the spot for their solution. IG Punjab addressed the police force and women personnel of Sheikhupura region at police lines at the police Darbar and directed them to eradicate crime and improve public service delivery. On this occasion, IG Punjab issued orders of transfer and financial assistance of several officials at their request. IG Punjab commended the officers of Sheikhupura region for their good work. RPO Sheikhupura Mirza Faran Baig, DPO Sheikhupura, DPO Nankana, DPO Kasur, Special Branch, CTD officers were also present on the occasion.
