Feb 16, 2022: Prime Minister Imran Khan will arrive in Lahore today for a one-day official visit. The Punjab chief minister will brief the prime minister on the overall situation in the province, law, and order, and political and national affairs.
Federal Ministers Asad Umar, Shafqat Mehmood, Hamad Azhar, Khusro Bakhtiar and Special Assistant Dr. Shahbaz Gul are accompanying the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister will preside over various meetings in the Chief Minister’s House, in which he will be briefed on the administrative and political situation in Punjab.
PM Imran Khan will review the performance of the provincial government led by Usman Buzdar.
Earlier, PM Imran Khan had taken stern notice of the death of a civilian in Mian Channu Tehsil of Khanewal District and demanded a report on the incident.
In a message on social networking site Twitter three days ago, PM Imran Khan said that any attempt by any individual or group to take the law into their own hands would not be tolerated.
Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan had expressed deep sorrow over the death of senior journalist Ghulam Akbar. Prime Minister Imran Khan said that Ghulam Akbar had enhanced high journalistic values in his decades-long journey of journalism. Ghulam Akbar’s political insight and struggle for justice through pen were the hallmarks of his journalism. Ghulam Akbar’s services to journalism will always be remembered. The Prime Minister prayed for forgiveness and condolences to the bereaved family.
