Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has been under the limelight for his famous and infamous U-turns and his style of politics in which he frequently changes his stance on mainstream national and global affairs. Imran’s U-turns and lies also leave his workers baffled. We have listed his top 10 U-turns as PTI Chairman.

1. Promising to eradicate corruption in Pakistani politics, but then later facing criticism over corruption allegations against members of his own government and himself including money laundering charges.

2. Always promotes and uses the name of the State of Madinah for his style of politics and even calls for the implementation of Sharia law in Pakistan, but his three and half year stint, was worst for his opponents and the common public facing injustice in every sphere of life including record inflation.

3. Advocates for negotiations with the Taliban and criticizing military operations against them, but then later supporting action against them and refusing to negotiate. The mix-signaling from his government and soft stance toward the Taliban badly hurt Pakistanis as terrorism return to cities and towns of Pakistan.

4. Asking his workers for Jail Bharo movement but Imran Khan himself get bail from courts, leaving a bad example and classic example of U-turn Khan as termed by Maryam Nawaz Sharif and other political opponents.

5. No longer blames the U.S. for his ouster from Prime Minister Office in April 2022. The infamous cipher from the U.S and the blame game vanished with the passage of time because it was only to incite the local populace to turn them against the sitting government because people still buy the anti-Americanism stance.

6. Criticizing the U.S. drone strikes in Pakistan, but then later allowing the expansion of drone operations against militants in the country.

7.  Despite Imran Khan’s initial warning not to engage with foreign diplomats during the no-confidence motion, both PTI leaders and Imran himself ended up meeting with them.

8. Criticizing former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s government for their economic policies, but then later implementing the worst economic policies in his own government.

9. -During his government, Imran Khan termed COAS Gen Bajwa as a pro-democracy military chief. But after he was ousted from power, Imran termed him Mir Jaffer and Mir Sadiq.

10. Imran Khan and his administration initially supported the PECA ordinance and the legal proceedings against journalists conducted under this legislation. However, they are now condemning the government’s handling of journalists’ cases under the same act that they introduced during their tenure.
