Frderal Minister for Religious Affairs and Inter-faith Harmony Mufti Abdul Shakoor passed away in a road accident in Islamabad.
Mufti Abdul Shakoor became the federal minister on 19 April 2022. He had been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan since August 2018.
He was elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan as a candidate of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) from Constituency NA-51 (Tribal Area-XII) in 2018 Pakistani general election. He received 21,896 votes and defeated Qaiser Jamal.
According to Capital City Police, Mufti Abdul Shakoor was heading towards Secretariat Chowk from Marriott Hotel when he met the accident.

According to details, a HiLux Revo vehicle carrying five passengers hit his vehicle.
Mufti Shakoor was shifted to Poly Clinic Hospital where he could not survive. The Police have arrested all the passengers of the vehicle that hit Mufti Shakoor’s car and also confiscated the vehicle.
Information Minister Maryum Aurangzeb and Islamabad Inspector General of Police have also reached the hospital.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed grief and sorrow over the death of Religious Affairs Minister Mufti Abdul Shakoor in an accident.
Prime Minister expressed sympathy and condolences to Mufti Abdul Shakoor’s family and all relatives.
Prime Minister said Mufti Abdul Shakoor was a practical scholar, an ideological political activist and a good human being.
He said Mufti Abdul Shakoor was one of the dynamic and ideological leaders of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) and performed his duties with great diligence, sincerity and honesty as the Minister of Religious Affairs.
“May Allah grant the deceased a high place in Jannat al-Firdous, and grant patience to the bereaved family,” said Prime Minister
